Nebula Ensemble recently launched a GoFundMe fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $3,000 to cover the costs of our upcoming concert season. We hope all our fans will consider donating – every little bit helps!
Why We Need Your Support
We perform three major concerts per season at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, plus additional concerts and outreach events in the Front Range community. Our expenses for our 2016-2017 season fall into three major categories:
1. Providing honoraria for our performers
Our performers are students and alumni of the Lamont School of Music. One of our goals as an ensemble is to maintain an active presence in the Front Range community outside of Lamont, and we need to provide honoraria for our performers for these outside performances and outreach events.
2. Equipment and concert expenses
We have costs related to multi-media elements, the need to purchase unusual equipment (for example, UK composer Daniel Wilson wrote a piece for us that required concrete, tile, metal, and contact microphones!), recording, transporting large percussion instruments to other venues, printing concert posters, printing and binding music scores, and maintaining our website.
3. Post-concert receptions
We provide a post-concert reception three times per season so audience members can socialize and interact with the musicians. We provide food, non-alcoholic beverages, utensils, and paper products at these receptions.
Breakdown of Expected Costs:
Performer honoraria: $2,100
Equipment and concert expenses: $525
Post-concert receptions: $225
GoFundMe fees: If we meet our goal amount of $3,000, we will keep approximately $2,850 after fees.
