Augustin Braud is a French contemporary composer born in 1994 and a graduate student in Musicology. While being mainly self taught, he has studied composition with Jean-Luc Defontaine and has attended masterclasses at IRCAM in Paris with the festival MANIFESTE 15 with M. Levinas, M. Jarell, Y. Maresz, and I. Fedele. He has also received advice from Y. Robin, M. Yeats, and A. Solbiati. Despite his young age, Braud has already worked on exciting projects with such musicians as Jeanne-Marie Conquer from the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Basel-based Duo Tied, and Ensemble Erasme, among others, and he has written scores for a wide range of formations. He also enjoys playing jazz and progressive rock in his spare time.
