Award winning pianist Jonathan Reddix began playing the piano at 6 years old and has proceeded to compete and win prizes in numerous competitions around the country including the Texas Music Teachers Association’s Achievement Auditions (2008), Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition at UT Austin (2009), the Pike’s Peak Music Educators Association’s Sonatina competition in Colorado Springs (2011), the Pueblo Keyboard Arts Festival (2011), and the Colorado Yamaha Piano competition (2011 & 2012). His Teachers include Dale Backus, Dr. April Brahinsky, and Dr. Michael Baron, as well as world-renowned pianist Dr. Steven Mayer with whom Jonathan currently studies. Jonathan has also participated in master classes with internationally acclaimed pianists such as Jon Nakamatsu, William Wolfram, Alexander Kobrin, and Victor Rosenbaum, among others.
Jonathan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in piano performance at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music where he has received the University’s award for outstanding recital in both 2014 and 2015. Summer Festivals include the Advanced Piano program at the University of Illinois’ Summer Youth Music festival, where he received their outstanding achievement award, as well as the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City.
