ZEITWELT1 [Enter: fluidly]

ZEITWELT1 [Enter: fluidly] takes as its starting point the concept that the heartrate determines the way in which time is experienced. There is no repeated set of actions more fundamental than the heartbeat and the breath: they are ‘ritual’ by definition and in essence. In relation to the correlation between the average human heartrate and our division of time into minutes comprising of 60 seconds, I wished to explore a much larger creature’s experience of time, informed not only by a heartrate a least half the rate of ours, but also by the influence of an acquatic environment. The ‘time-world’ described in the title is that of the whale. (And perhaps also the barnacles which live upon it?)
